Support to Get Out, Take Part and Stay Connected
Experienced Support. Genuine Connection. Your Life, Your Way.
Being part of your community is an important part of everyday life.
Whether it's running errands, attending an activity, enjoying a hobby or simply getting out and about, having the right support alongside you can make community participation more comfortable and enjoyable.
I'm Samuel, an independent support worker with more than 9 years of experience.
Through Samuel G Support, I provide community access support built around your interests, confidence and individual circumstances.
What Is Community Access?
Community access, sometimes called community participation — or, in NDIS plans, assistance with social and community participation — is support to help a person take part in activities and places outside the home.
It can be as practical as getting to an appointment or as social as joining an activity, visiting a local place or taking part in something you enjoy.
The focus is on participation, confidence and connection, at a pace that suits you.
Ways Community Access Can Help
Depending on your circumstances, community access support may include:
Shopping & Errands
Support with grocery shopping, personal shopping and running appropriate errands.
Appointments
Assistance getting to and preparing for appropriate appointments and activities.
Activities & Hobbies
Taking part in recreational activities, hobbies and interests you enjoy.
Community Events
Attending appropriate local events and social activities.
Getting Out & About
Walks, outings and exploring local places with support alongside you.
Social Connection
Support to visit friends and family or take part in group activities.
The support available depends on your individual circumstances and the services I am able to provide.
Building Confidence in the Community
For some people, getting out into the community can feel challenging. Having someone reliable alongside can make it easier. Support can help you:
Support That Follows Your Interests
Community access isn't a fixed program. What it looks like depends entirely on what's meaningful to you.
For one person it might be a regular coffee and a walk. For another it might be getting to appointments, joining a local activity or simply having support to feel confident getting out and about. The activity should always be something that matters to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is community access support?
Community access support helps a person take part in activities and places outside the home, such as shopping, appointments, hobbies, events and social activities, based on their interests and circumstances.
What activities can community access include?
It may include shopping and errands, appointments, recreational activities and hobbies, community events, outings and social connection, depending on your circumstances.
Can community access help me build confidence?
Yes. Where appropriate, having a reliable, familiar person alongside can help you feel more comfortable and confident participating in the community at your own pace.
Is community access the same as social support?
They often overlap. Social support and companionship focuses on connection and shared time, while community access focuses on participating in activities and places outside the home. Both can be combined.
Do you provide NDIS community participation support?
The type of NDIS support available and provider arrangements depend on the participant's circumstances and how their plan is managed. Learn more here or contact me to discuss your situation.
